«Dagoberto Rodríguez Sánchez nació en 1969 en Caibarién, Las Villas y se graduó del Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), La Habana, Cuba en 1994. En 1992 cofundó el colectivo Los Carpinteros. Sus obras se han exhibido en museos e instituciones culturales de todo el mundo.

Los Carpinteros se separaron en 2018. Dagoberto Rodríguez trabaja actualmente entre Madrid y La Habana. Combinando arquitectura, diseño y escultura, su trabajo emplea el humor y la ironía para comentar temas centrales en el arte, la política y la sociedad. La acuarela forma una parte muy importante de su proceso creativo, es una forma de colaborar, registrar y revisar sus ideas. A menudo, estos reflejan la fantasía de una posible situación conceptual».
